Earthquake Awareness Program
Bishwashanti Chiran Milan Campus today organized an "Earthquake Awareness Program" to raise awareness about earthquake risk and safety in the local community. Representatives of various sections of the community, students, and professors participated in the program held at Pipalbot in KMC 3.
Presiding over the program, campus chief Netra Prasad Neupane spoke about the need for earthquake preparedness and collective awareness. Geologist Mukunda Bhattarai, as the keynote speaker, gave detailed information about the scientific causes, effects, and safety measures of earthquakes. He said, "Earthquake preparedness is the main basis for saving lives," and urged people to make safety plans at home, school, and community levels.
Associate Professor Laxminarayan Mishra highlighted the importance of basic tasks to be done during an earthquake, such as drop, cover, and hold techniques and emergency supplies. Sharing his experience at the program, 85-year-old local resident Nar Bahadur Karki said that "such programs make the younger generation aware." Some students also expressed their commitment to being earthquake-aware.
The program conducted by Satyaraj Joshi aimed to increase knowledge and collective responsibility regarding earthquakes in the community. The program participants described it as very effective. At the end of the program, Campus Head Netra Prasad Nyaypane concluded the program by thanking the participants.
